Other Projects

In addition to playing Steel Pans, Jim is a songwriting and composing enthusiast and has played drum kit professionally for many years. Jim is a well-established and accomplished educator, teaching drums and percussion in schools since 1994 and and in recent years inspiring school children with his world music performances and workshops.

In the Spring of 2006 Jim launched a new company, World Music Workshops, bringing world music into schools through his unique one-man performances and hands-on workshops. From the Caribbean to Africa, from Brazil to Bach, 'World Music Workshops' will offer music for everyone to enjoy and be a part of. Whether it be Samba, Salsa, Calypso, Soca, Classical, African Drumming, African Marimba music, Chinese or Japanese drumming, or any other style, Jim will aim to tailor a performance and workshops to suit your school plans and projects.

If you know a school that may be interested in WORLD MUSIC WORKSHOPS please send Jim an email through the Steel Pan Events website, by clicking on 'World Music Workshops' link at the top of the page.

Being a music lover, Jim is interested in corresponding with all music enthusiasts. Click on the clips below to hear Jim drumming with friends and don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions or ideas.

Remember to keep it FUN at all times!!!
